Dr Joanne Tang is a medical oncologist working at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Tasmania. She went on to complete her specialist training in medical oncology at major tertiary hospitals including the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital. Following her attainment of FRACP in 2024, she further undertook a 12 month fellowship specialising in phase 1 clinical trials at the Liverpool Hospital in Sydney.

Dr Tang also holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Care. She is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer with the University of New South Wales and previously held a teaching position with the University of Adelaide.
